Becky Hyberger

Making art is the vehicle I use to maneuver through my interior life. My art is the place in my heart where I am able to make connections between the physical and the spiritual; the interior and the exterior; the personal dream and the larger vision of the community.

Building miniature constructions is a multi faceted process that illuminates transformation. Sometimes my emphasis is on the physical object being created . . . the miniature. Other times, it is on the idea behind the physical thing . . . the metaphor. For example; a tin box becomes a suitcase and an open suitcase becomes a journey. A degree in psychology, a passionate interest in the hidden language of dreams and a fascination with the creative process are the underpinnings for my work.

My current series, Reading the Hidden Language, is a continually expanding library that reflects my own inner spiritual journey. Two examples from this library are “Dishes – Dreams” and “Changing Peas to Pearls.”.
