My jewelry incorporates sterling silver, PMC (fine silver), 14K and 24K gold, various semi-precious gems, and enamel. Nature, realistic or as metaphor, seems to invariably appear in my work, whether as a conscious design element, or making itself known as texture or pattern.

Craftsmanship and competent technique is a worthy goal, but I believe it satisfying as well to see the hand of the maker and the unique character in handcrafted jewelry. Sterling silver and PMC silver accomplish this, as they adapt so well to different finishes, colors and textures, often enhanced with 24K gold or enamel.

I have practiced and taught jewelry making and enameling for many years at the Wichita Center for the Arts, and at Wichita State University. Now I am a “retired” teacher, but full time studio artist, and loving it. I was president of the Midwest Enamelist Guild for many years, and serve currently on the board of the Kansas Artist Craftsmen Association.
